Substeps Question - Final results posted on YouTube
A while back I had posted a question regarding min/max substeps. In the end, I needed "Gus's" help on a model that was leaking everywhere. I thought I'd send a link to the final results (Thanks to Gus and Next Limit) I have posted on YouTube. The 220 hours of simulation time was completed on an 8 co...

Re: Benchmarks stuff
Jorge, I would be interested in this as well. Maybe the forum users could agree on a difficult scene to construct that we could test against? After all, it would be nice to know that those of us who use RF on an almost daily basis would be posting true numbers. I would be more than happy to tally th...

Re: Min Substeps / Max Substeps?
Gus,
I have done this. But haven't been given a place to send the attachment to.

Re: Min Substeps / Max Substeps?
Gus,
Spoke to soon - at frame 350 the particles have fallen through again.
I am ready to send you the zipped file.
I have searched for the technical email address, and can't find it anywhere here or at realflow.com. Can you please send it to me via messages?

Re: Min Substeps / Max Substeps?
Gus, At 300 frames into the simulation, so far, so good. Another question. Do you think/know if resolution will change the issue? Another words, if I run the simulation at a resolution of 10 instead 100, and have no issues (at the 10 level) - will this be duplicated at the 100 level? I will still se...

Re: Min Substeps / Max Substeps?
Gus,
Thank you for your comments. I will try the revised min/max levels this morning. I will also send the file over as well.
I will let you know what happens with the simulation in a couple of hours.
Regards,
Jeff

Re: Min Substeps / Max Substeps?
Nothing was placed at the corners. To be quite honest, I may not be using the script correctly. Having said that, when I replace the geometry name in the script (per your direction), it runs without an errors. What should I have seen exactly? Also, should I make the cube the same size as the individ...

Re: Min Substeps / Max Substeps?
If I read your post correctly, I should put a cube around the entire stairwell model, not just the landing. I have tried this, and it doesn't fix the problem. I am perplexed why a simple flat plane would cause so much grief. Do you have another solution? I can't use a simple plane from RealFlow, for...

Re: Min Substeps / Max Substeps?
I will send the file over this morning.
As with collision distances, a setting of 1 is just to great. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I would have to then make the scene that much larger to offset this in order for the water to look realistic. Right?
Thoughts?
