Re: Alembic FPS

No. I am afraid there is not. We will think on some ways to overcome this issues in next version.

Re: Realflow 2014 .ass files: motion blur, additional attrib

Good news Ben, Motion blur in Arnold is now working with the latest patch we released yesterday. Velocity arrays have been removed as they were basically useless, and a new set of points has been added for each object to tell Arnold the second position. In commandline you will be able to render any ...

Re: Realflow 2014 .ass files: motion blur, additional attrib

Thanks Ben, now I get it. I know how to export information out of RealFlow using arnold SDK, but this is clearly not enough for our problem here, as I don't know either how to get that motion blur working with arnold. I figured it was an easy task to do for a maya/houdini user, but as I see now, it ...

Re: Realflow 2014 .ass files: motion blur, additional attrib

Hi Ben. Sorry but I do not quite understand what you said. Based on the file you attached I have found it has: nsides 400 elements (360 of them 4 sided and 40 triangles) vidxs 1560 (360*4 + 40 *3) nidxs 1560 (360*4 + 40 *3) uvidxs 1560 (360*4 + 40 *3) vlist 382 (the real number of vertices, all of t...

Re: Realflow 2014 .ass files: motion blur, additional attrib

Hi Ben, we export velocities whenever they are available in the simulation (always I think in the case of .ass), one vector for each vertex (or particle). I will have a look into it, because once inside the .ass file, I don't really know how to use them in Arnold to get motion blur. I will let you k...

Re: Rigid Alembic Caches: Velocity, UVs and POINT NUMBER!

Hi Ben, I am glad it helped About the velocity thing: you are right, this is an option we considered this morning. It could be a problem with rotating objects, so I will talk about this issue next week with my colleagues. The UV's in alembic with multibodies problem has just been fixed, it will work...

Re: Rigid Alembic Caches: Velocity, UVs and POINT NUMBER!

Hi Ben, Thanks for reporting this. We have been looking into your problem and we might have found something: 1 About the velocity question: We export an xform for each object in the alembic file. With the xform you can get the velocity information of each point of the object. What do you mean by "tr...

Re: Alembic vs SD orientation issues, still a problem.

Hi, we found and almost fixed the bug, there's still one minor problem with the cameras that will be sorted out soon. About the curve animation, I suspect this is the same bug (the problem with the axis) but I am not 100% sure, could you elaborate more or provide an example of this wrong behavior so...

Re: Alembic vs SD orientation issues, still a problem.

I am not completely sure yet, but this curve interpolation issue might be caused by the same bug. We will have to check this on Monday.
I'll keep you updated for sure! thanks

Re: Alembic vs SD orientation issues, still a problem.

Hi johnc, thank you very much for reporting this. Unfortunately alembic is "axis agnostic", and there is no way the RealFlow importer could know the axis setup of the alembic geometry that you are trying to import, however we are well aware of this issue and it will soon be fixed. As you said you ca...
