Re: Tutorial for tiling displacement maps in Maya?
Nevermind. It seems that I'm able to tile displacement maps successfully in Maya using displacement maps generated from Hybrido. I simply applied the displacement map to a plane in maya using RFRK and duplicated the plane and lined it up with the original plane. The tiling seems to be working just f...

Tutorial for tiling displacement maps in Maya?
Are there any tutorials that show the entire process of creating a displacement map in Hybrido (or Realwave) and then bringing that displacement map into Maya and applying it to a plane and then duplicating that plane in Maya to create a huge ocean? I've seen a lot of tutorials that show how to crea...

Faceted Hybrido Mesh
I'm working on an ocean surface and my hybrido mesh looks faceted when I render it in Maya. I've tried Normals>Soften Edges, but that doesn't solve the problem. My mesh is high resolution (over 1 million polys) and can't be smoothed without crashing my computer (24GB RAM - GTX 580 Geforce 3GB). I'm ...

Re: Realwave Displacement Maps with RFRK
I think I was not supposed to tile the displacement map using the "place2Dtexture" node in maya by repeating the UVs. Instead, I think I was supposed to create one plane in maya with the same dimensions as my realwave and apply the displacement map to that in Maya. In my case my realwave is 100x100,...

Re: Realwave Displacement Maps with RFRK
I was wondering if anyone has been able to tile a Realwave Displacement map in Maya? I'm using RFRK in Maya. The displacement map seems to be working, but when I try to tile it the edges of the tiled displacement map don't line up correctly. I've tried tweaking the Repeat UV box in the Maya place2dT...

Re: Geo in .sd file duplicates itself during sim
[SOLVED] Thanks for your reply. In Maya, I froze the transformations of the ship hull and then exported it as a .sd file. This solved the problem.
Thanks!

Re: Geo in .sd file duplicates itself during sim
I tried deleting the model's history in Maya before exporting the .sd out. However, I'm still getting the duplication of the geo during simulation in RF. Very strange.

Re: Geo in .sd file duplicates itself during sim
Hi Floriank, Thanks for your quick reply. I'm exporting from Maya and I am using newest Realflow/Maya plugin. I'll try deleting the construction history from the object and re-exporting. I had to scale down my geo in Maya prior to export for realflow and I didn't delete the construction history befo...
