Ocean Force field, not behaving correctly

I have an Ocean force field that I am trying to create rolling waves with. but no matter what I do, it will not behave correctly. I have tried Velocity and force, Ive tried Keyframing to turn it off and on, I am out of ideas. If look at the jpeg attached. you can see my strength is set to 200 and my...

Hybrido mesh and smoothing

I noticed once i brought my hybrido mesh in max, that its faceted. I did a little research and saw that it has been an issue in the past and the only solution was to add a smooth modifier. The only problem is performance dies in max once the modifier is added? Has this been addressed in the newest p...

Re: Please help with Realwave interacting with my object!

Hey Thomas, Just wanted you to know the client loved the sim and now want me to do one hero wave crashing into and over the oil rig. Which I though is going to be a helluva lot easier then trying to create the ocean. Also going contact next limit and see about getting some nodes for simulation. I co...

Re: Please help with Realwave interacting with my object!

Nevermind, sorry about that. I used a HY_Mesher and its looking good now. The particle mesher was giving me some weird results.

Thanks

Re: Please help with Realwave interacting with my object!

Hey Thomas, Can you explain to me, how I get a smoother mesh and have it not look so much like metaballs. Ive been going back and forth between the radius and polygon size with no luck. http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa298/Billabon654/splash_mesh_1_zpsdoscuzgf.jpg http://i198.photobucket.com/alb...

Re: Please help with Realwave interacting with my object!

Thanks Thomas,

I'm going to try that now. I came in this morning and Command line was telling me the foam had an estimated 40 hrs to finish simulating.

Re: Please help with Realwave interacting with my object!

No need to apologize at all Thomas, I wouldn't have gotten this far without you. Yeah I was thinking the same thing about the waterline emitter. For the foam. I agree about the 25 million particles, my only problem is, it looks as if it covers all of the ocean. see screenshot. and that is only 5.3 m...

Re: Please help with Realwave interacting with my object!

Should I be using the wet emitter, I thought you said to use the waterline emitter? I just checked the normals and everything is facing outwards. I attached an image of the isosurface enabled. What I meant by offset was the surface offset in the waterline dynamics. I will not let me put in a negativ...

Re: Please help with Realwave interacting with my object!

Hey Thomas, So the waterline emitter is doing exactly the same thing as the wet emitter. its emitting inside the object. I've tried all 3 volume modes on the oilrig and no matter what, it stays inisde.plus you cant go negative on the surface offset, so I might have to scrap the waterline emitter. No...
