I think it looks great, well done.
As far as maxwell goes, I've used it for a long time and render times are well within the timings you've already given - it's well worth a go, it can produce some stunning results with very little effort.

ok, I've worked out the problem. My fault - I had the mesh set to inactive (thinking it might behave like cached) when I was creating the .mxs files. Building the mesh at the same time as exporting the .mxs works fine.

Hello, I've noticed that if you open a .mxs file created by Realflow in Maxwell studio the particle mesh is translated as an object element and will not render, however if you import the mesh as a Realflow mesh extension object then it is renderable. yep, I had noticed the same thing - something was calculated but there was no output file or anything.

I've noticed that I only seem to be able to export maxwell .mxs files if I use the GUI simulation rather than the command line simulation - is this correct or am I missing something?
