Dyverso Rigid objects: keeping them glued?

Hi, Is there a way to keep Dyverso rigid objects glued? I'm working on a scene where I have a prefractured object (let's say a glass), and imported it as individual pieces. I added all of those pieces to a particle skinner. The glass is floating on the air, and want it to fall due to gravity and spl...

Re: Dilate / Erode Volume Filters

Hi Thomas, This is actually the second time I try those filters... first time the mesh was more complex and I assumed that was the cause. This time is a very simple scene and the behavior is the same as before. I'll try reinstalling RF and let you know if that fixes the issues. Forgot to mention I'm...

Dilate / Erode Volume Filters

Hello, I've been trying to use these two filters to close small gaps (something I learnt from Houdini) but unfortunately these two filters take a lot of time to compute, but the manual says they (all three volume filters) are very fast, so I'm a bit confused to be honest. The smooth filter is actual...

Re: Alembic export data type

Thanks Thomas, I agree, it doesn't make sense. At first I thought That changing the FPS would modify the velocity info on the fly (assuming the mesh gets its velocity values averaging from the near points), but doing that made no difference at all in my tests. I don't really know where he got this c...

Re: Alembic export data type

@ Orlando These values are "scaled" if I simulate at a higher fps but before generating the meshes, I switch to a lower fps. Is this correct? Yes, this is how I read it, but to be sure we'll contact the guy who shared this tip. Strange… I tested this and nothing changed: before creating the mesh, I...

Dyverso Rigids, intial velocity

Hello, I've been learning a lot these days, so please bear with me for the many questions I've been asking. This time I was wondering if there's a way to set initial velocities to Dyverso Rigids (in conjunction with Particle Skinner). I'm interested in both, linear and angular initial velocities. Id...

Re: Alembic export data type

Thanks Thomas, I really hope the developers see this request a a good suggestion because it will help a lot of people, really :) About the speed tip, I'm going to test it soon, but just to be sure... so, the fps of the scene have a direct relation on how the speed values are stored in the alembic fi...

Alembic export data type

Hello, I was wondering if there's a way to change the data type when exporting alembic files. For instance, velocity is exported as vector which totally makes sense, but Maya's alembic reader doesn't read it correctly. Maya's workflow allows to select a color set as motion source, so it would be ver...

Houdini instant crash when trying to import SD

Hello, Is anyone else experimenting this same behavior? I'm trying to import an SD into Houdini but as soon as try to create the Import SD node, Houdini crashes. I'm able to import particles and meshes without problems. Simple video showing the issue: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JaUOzNiYgYWOf3I...

Re: Mesh generation slower in command line

I switched the domain to cache to ensure it would be ignored (to avoid any user error hehe). I think I found the culprit: I had a second mesh in my scene. This one had visibility off, build set to no. I thought setting build to off the meshing would be ignored but seems like this setting has no effe...
