Re: Alembic RF meshes and 3DS Max with VRay...

Hey Greg, do you have an Alembic file to check here with this problem?. I was trying here with a simple sphere and it seems to be working. luisM. Well... I deleted all Alembic meshes from RF to save some space and kept the BIN meshes, since motion blur was working for them; I'll create a couple lat...

Alembic RF meshes and 3DS Max with VRay...

So, i can load Alembic meshes from RealFlow in to 3DS Max 2014, using the VRay Proxy mesh. But, it seems that i can't render them with motion blur. According to VRay's manual regarding Alembic support through VRay Proxy, there should be a separate file along with the Alembic mesh that describes the ...

ps: Any info about VRay support for RenderKit perhaps? :?:
We are thinking on it ;)

Hey Luis!
Thanks for the heads up!
Imho, VRay is the sole reason 3DS Max is still around, so supporting VRay seem like a no-brainier; for me, at least... :)

Cheers,
Greg

Re: RFRK Volume missing parameters in 3DS Max 2014

Aha! I knew it should be something that easy... :D Problem is i was using Vray as the main renderer and the material on the Cloud object was hidden as "incompatible", so i couldn't see it in the Scene's Material list and never thought to just "pick material from object"... Thanks for the heads up!.....

RFRK Volume missing parameters in 3DS Max 2014

I'm not sure what's going on, but just tried to import a Mist cached .f3d sim into 3dsMax using the RF Cloud object. And all i can see is the tab "Parameters", as seen in the pic below: http://s22.postimg.org/8sjb66rq9/RF3_Volume.jpg I'm using 3ds Max 2014 SP2 now, but that was the case with SP1 and...

What's not possible?
Converting rpc/bin to prt after sim is done works fine here, with the script Luis suggested...

Re: Hybrido RPC particles converted to PRT...

Hmmm....
I can't find the "EXPORT_PARTICLES_RPC" constant...
All other constants work; ABC, ASC, BIN, PDC, PRT....

Edit1:
There is a ""EXPORT_GRID_DOMAIN_RPC" though...
Maybe i can use that for exporting RPCs to PRTs using the names instead of the number IDs?

Edit2:
Yes, that works fine...

Re: Hybrido RPC particles converted to PRT...

Hey, Luis...
On the same topic...
How can i convert bin secondary particles (Splash, Foams, Waterlines etc.) into PRTs, as well?

Is there somewhere documented the "activeExportResource" command and what format their export ID numbers represent?
Couldn't find anything detailed enough...

Thanks!
