Re: RF 2014 Crash

Hi Neil,

I am unable to reproduce, but we just bumped onto a bug related to initial state and Hybrido that have been fixed for the next patch.
Could you try to do the same but using .vdb for Hybrido fields instead of the default .gfc?

Chees,

Re: Sucking through a straw

Hi Mark, I am glad we don´t have to judge the use of RF from our clients :D I think you could achieve something like this using the filter daemon to fake the transition from the "line" into the straw. You could hide/delete using the filter based on, for example, a bounded gravity attached/parented t...

Re: Blender plugins?

Hi Neil,

Actually, nothing in our plans to have connectivity with Blender other than using the opensource formats (abc, vdb, f3d)
If there was a huge clients request we might think about it, as with anything.

Cheers,

Re: Re-installing 2014 after a hard drive format.

Ahhh, sorry. This will have to go via Salesdesk then.
I forgot that Techdesk only applie if your license type is Standard and you are in Support&Maintenance.

The Sales people should fix it for you.

Cheers,

Re: RF2014 Saving Preferences

Hi Stephane, In Windows, the preferences currently get saved in the registry, something we aim to change in future versions. In linux, you can find them here : /home/username/.config/Next Limit Technologies/RealFlow2014.conf In OSX : /Users/username/Library/Preferences/com.next-limit-technologies.Re...

Re: Errors & Crashing

Hi Mark, Replied on the other post. Summer is always "slow" around here, especially August, so sorry about the small delay. Likely to be openCL related, in this case probably won´t help and the memory will be a bottleneck. Regarding particle count, it should be ok. The 200 million poly mesh, might b...

Re: Re-installing 2014 after a hard drive format.

Hi, I recently had to reformat hard hard drive and now have to install RF2014 again. How do I submit the new HostID number so I can generate a new LIC file? Thanks in advance, Hi there, As DeltaJuliet points out, unless you have changed your network adapter, the hostid shouldn´t have changed and yo...

Re: how many particles is too many?

Hi Mark, I'd say that the main issue you are facing is the fact that you have a big amount of sph particles, and the .bin format is a heavy one. We will revise that for future versions of RealFlow, but I'd say that you would be better running big sims with Hybrido if possible. The rpc format is opti...
