Re: in accurate surface offset boundaries ?
Yes, I'm sure it depends alot on the scale of the scene etc. I tried it overnight, but I think I set the offset too high so it almost removed the interaction totally... So it's a little unreliable for me, I'll try to use the graph posted here next time the fluid is "too far away". But as far as I un...
Jittering
So there used to be a setting called incompressibility and thank god we're rid of that :) But often when an animated geometry breaks the surfacetension, there's jitter spreading across the container, and I think maybe this can be possible to smooth out while meshing, but I want to get your opinion a...

And also to be able to compute more particles. Rather than having the computer handle grid, and foam and mesh and splash at the same time, we can handle a bigger foam-sim if we do it afterwards.FlorianK wrote:To do one thing after another is the way it is meant to be done in order to save resurces.

Hey Octavio,o.delellis@gmail.com wrote:hi Izo,
i never got it! but managed to sort it out by offsetting the animation and making the particle size bigger
That's cool.
Which offset are you setting to negative values? The surface offset or the domain offset?

Re: in accurate surface offset boundaries ?
Thank you for your comments, hope you just can work around the above issues until the next patch comes out. There is a simulation graph that you can use for adding more particles to the closest points on the animated geo and then mesh all particles together resulting in a filling of the gaps. I bel...

Snap to surface with combined emitters?
Hi guys, I've played around with the graph Angel posted, that makes the foamparticles snap to the closest point on the grid mesh. But I often prefer to use Splash & Foam or Wet & Foam rather than using separate emitters. I haven't tested yet, but wanted to ask here if you think I can use for example...

Re: Scene scale in 2013?
Good points Florian, thanks! I have thought of the alembic double-cache workaround, the only thing that got in my way of actually trying it out (other than not taking the time to do so) is that I've been wondering a little bit about substeps and alembic? Early on in the production I would open a may...

Maybe you guys should have a separate subforum for simulation graphs?

Stitching
I think this feature is called stitching in naiad, the fact that resolution can be raised where it's needed. Say I have a huge ocean but I only really want details around the ship, it would be awesome to be able to somehow get added resolution in that area but still run it all in one sim. Did that m...
