Set initial state why does it pour again (PIC)

Post by Andy Lunn » Thu Mar 12, 2020 11:11 am

Hello all.

QQ: If I get my realflow created and then press use initial state and click the check box. (I am creating a logo coming through oil on a tray) when i return to start on my animation, why does the fluid emitter start to pour more oil again, bogging down my time line to a play speed of around 2-3 frames every 15 seconds.

When we press use initial state shouldn't that tell real flow not to recreate and pour more particles on our already in state fluid? it is like it is doing it twice.

Hi

I assume you have in addition to set the emitter to speed=0

Sometimes, I had a similar problem when I used the maximum number of particles in the "fluid" to stop emission, and then during a longer sim there was somewhere a loss of particles by some k-daemon and the emitter started to become active again. So, the simple solution is to change that manually with the speed setting.
