Hi guys.
I still can't get my head around one thing. I work with 3DSMAX and when I export a .SD file to RF, it comes 10X bigger than it is in MAX. I know that because I compare the surface dimensions and it gives that. I know RF has a hard time dealing with small geometry and liquids, so I've been told to raise the daemons force scale 10x. Is this the correct approach to this issue? Is there a way to make the scale match when import a file from one application to the other?
Thanks.
What happens with the scale from 3DSMAX to RF

Re: What happens with the scale from 3DSMAX to RF
Hi,
Try to export a box.sd from Realflow and import it into 3dsmax. Once you have finished the scene in 3dsmax (working with big scale) and it is ready to export, scale down it to match the box.sd you imported from RealFlow. A trick to scale is to make a group with the scene and scale down the group. When you have the correct scale for your scene, ungroup the objects and export them to sd. If you don't group the objects to scale, you'll need to make a resetxform before exporting.
I hope it helps.

Thanks Luis.
I'll try that and keep you in the loop.

Hi Luis.
I tried to do what you suggested but it didn't work out. I saved two images and I can't figure out what to do. I want to do a ship flowing across a GridMesh. I could make the geometry of the whole scene in Realflow 100x smaller(geometry scale 0.01) but then every primitive geometry from RF would also be 100x smaller. The geometry comes from MAX to RF exactly 100x smaller. Any thoughts how to solve this?
Thank you.

Hi,
I mean, it would be to create a Cube01 in RelFlow and import it into 3dsmax and leave it as an object reference. Did you do that?

With 3ds max 2012 it seems that you could use a scene scale of 1 in Realflow without problems when you set meters as system and display units in 3ds max.
Export a 1 cubic metre cube from max. It should import into Realflow (scene scale 1) the same size a standard Realflow cube has.
