Re-installing 2014 after a hard drive format.

Post by Oldcode » Wed Aug 20, 2014 12:11 am

Hi,

I recently had to reformat hard hard drive and now have to install RF2014 again. How do I submit the new HostID number so I can generate a new LIC file?

Thanks in advance,

Go into the customer gateway, should be a option in there, I had to do mine a second time(2014LE) and the option was still there.

Isn't the .lic based on your network adapter (i could be wrong) maybe give the old .lic file a try?

cheers.

Dave.

Hi there,

As DeltaJuliet points out, unless you have changed your network adapter, the hostid shouldn´t have changed and you should be able to use the license you have in the portal. No need to generate a new one.

Hi Gus,

Thanks for the quick reply. Sorry I did not mention it, but yes, I have changed my network card. My mother board was giving me problems which is what caused me to have to re-format the hard drive. I've got a brand new motherboard with a new Mac address so I'm going to need new hostid number.

How do I do that?

Thanks.

Hi,

Send us an email through techdesk, and we will sort it out.

Hey Gus,

I've looked, but I don't see the Tech Desk when I log into the customer portal.

I say a link for contacting the sales department, and I sent the info there, but I've no heard anything.

Can you point me to where the Tech Desk is?

Thanks,

Ahhh, sorry. This will have to go via Salesdesk then.
I forgot that Techdesk only applie if your license type is Standard and you are in Support&Maintenance.

The Sales people should fix it for you.

Cheers,
