I've got a bubble method I'm working on but I've noticed something strange happening with some of them.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdPT6qkw-zA&hd=1
As you can see, the majority of the bubbles are fine but some stop in mid air. They stay there and only start moving again when another bubble consumes it.
I know the cause of the problem but not why it's happening..... Does that even make sense?
I have a low gravity for the bubbles but a kSpeed limiting their velocity.
It's the kSpeed that seems to be the cause because when I turn it off it doesn't seem to happen.
Here are tooltips for 3 ok bubbles (highlighted with particle selection tool):
And now 3 static bubbles:
The majority of particles within each static bubble have a minus Y velocity. Most also have high minus accelerations.
Can anyone think why would be happening?
You pesky bubbles
