Yes, I'm sure it depends alot on the scale of the scene etc.
I tried it overnight, but I think I set the offset too high so it almost removed the interaction totally...
So it's a little unreliable for me, I'll try to use the graph posted here next time the fluid is "too far away".
But as far as I understood the conversation here, the idea of using negative surface offset would be a viable workflow later on...

On a sidenote, just a question about surface offset, does anyone know what unit it is in? Metres or cells?

"Surface offset" is measured in meters. Thanks for the note - I'll add it to the manual.
