Hy Mesh dimples / craters

helloooo, me again...

i have been getting this meshing artifact regularly. They are a single particle blob, floating in a crater.

i though they might be 'lonely particles' so i am now tracking them with low min (0.01) and max lifetimes (0.1) but still get them.

the particles are not involved in any splashing so i have no idea what is causing this, they aren't visible on the Domain as particles, only when meshing, so i am hoping is some setting i am not doing right?

here are my mesh settings

no displacement, texture, clipping or optimize is on

here is a still

i managed to remove most of them, not sure if by skill or chance. the top one is the latest sim the bottom one a previous version

the odd (odde-er) thing is the top one starts as a single particle but grows in to a longish shape after a few frames...any ideas what is causing this????

they always start from the collision object/ fluid boundary and stay like this for a few frames and disappear or they stay there for the whole sim

Hi Octavio,

I send you a zip file to take a look a multiple configurations of meshes to know how to work with the hybrido mesher. Take a look at the parameters. The good configuration is setting the AutoPolygon size to NO, and the @polygon size and @particle radius to the same value. In addtion, the weight normalization should be set to NO as well. I think it will help you to modify your mesh.

Hope it helps. ;)

Hej,

sorry for jumping in - but those examples are really helpful! ;]
Do you have those "test" for other parameters as well ? And if so, would it be possible to link them in the documentation ?
(maybe like maxwell did it ? http://support.nextlimit.com/display/ma ... Properties )
would be really nice !

best
