Open boundaries

Hello,
I'm trying to mesh my hybrido-grid with the hy_mesh. It's an open water surface with a rowboat so I only need the top surface, and thus I enable the open boundaries-option.
The thing is, I still get the other sides of the domain in the meshm which is alot more data than necessary.
I know in 2012 the mesher would cut the closed sides of the domain, but now in 2013 we can control this with the representation of the HY_domain in the viewport.
I have set the gizmo for the domain well inside my actual particles, and also above the bottom, but the mesher still gives me a cube of water.
Any ideas? Does this not yet work with 2013?
Thanks for any help

hey izo,
do you have any screenshot to take a look? If you can send me the scene with a mesh file it would be great.
Thanks.

Hello everyone,
I have the same problem :
I have set the open boundaries to "Yes", the gizmo is on the half height of the particules and the mesher still build everything, if izo dont send you a scene, I can send you one...
Thanks

Hi guys thanks for replying,
This a scene I'm doing at work so I am not allowed to send it without an NDA between NL and my employer, sorry. But maybe we can look at ValentinD's scene?
BUT I can say that it now works, I can't say I'm entirely sure it was the cause but it started working after I scaled the scene in maya to 0.1, and set my geo-scale in RF back to 1 instead of 0.1 as it originally was.
ValentinD, have you scaled your scene in RF?

I can send my scene to Luis (can you send me a private message or a mail ?)
Yes I have scaled my scene (geo scale > 0.05)

I was just thinking, if you set your scale back to 1, and instead set the fluid daemon force scale to 20 to see if it works, like it did for me.

I have to re-launch my simulation or if it is in cache mode I can just modify my scale ?
Because I have a 8 hours simulation so... I can try but only tonight !

I'd say you have to resim, if you've worked alot on it I can understand that you don't want to mess around with it, but you could just rename your domain so the files won't be overwritten, and then resim with lower resolution, just to test it all...

I will do that tonight

Nice, it may of course just be a coincidence that it started working after I scaled my scene in maya instead of RF, but would be nice to know if it works for you too
