Viewport turns gray, what does it mean?

Hi guys,
I don't know if this means something, or if its a bug. When simulating liquids (I only noticed it when trying to work with Hybrido) the colors in the viewport change. My graphics card drivers are up to date so I'm not sure if its a bug, or if the program just does this for a reason I don't know about.
(See attached picture).

Hey,
this is a problem with your graphic card drivers. Please, update the driver and let me know if it works now.

Hi there,
does it goes back to its normal state when the simulation stops or it remains that way after starting the simulation?

Hi Luis and Alex,
Thank you guys for getting back to me. My card is up to date, its an ATI Radeon HD 5870 on the following system:
Model Name: Mac Pro
Model Identifier: MacPro5,1
Processor Name: 6-Core Intel Xeon
Processor Speed: 3.33 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 6
L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB
L3 Cache: 12 MB
Memory: 24 GB
Could it be that my card is too old?
@Alex It varies. Sometimes the viewport resets to normal after stopping the simulation and other times it doesn't. I wasn't sure if it was a graphics driver or something the program did since I only seem to be able to replicate it when using Hybrido.

Hi again,
we have managed to reproduce it here on a Windows machine.
It seems to happen with ATI graphic cards if " Use Vertex Buffer Objects" option is checked in Display Preferences.
Thanks for finding it.

Glad I could help
Should I disable vertex buffer objects for now? Will it mess up my simulations or is it just a display feature?

Feel free to disable it.
It is for display purposes only and you will hardly find any difference when disabled. Apart from the background not turning gray, of course.
