Pre-sim check

I've just noticed that after simming for 8hrs that I forgot to set the emitters to export. Keep calm Sean, keep calm. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh :x .

What might be quite good is whenever the simulate button is pressed, Rf does a check.

For example:

Emitters are set to active but they're not set to export.
Meshes are set to export but their build parameter is No

Stuff like that. The simming won't take place until the user presses a continue button.

Or, next to the sim and reset button there could be a 'Test Scene' button which would look over everything to see it all is ok.

---------

Or, I or someone could make a script which does the test. They press the script button, it does its thing then sims the scene if everything is ok or when the user says continue.

That's an idea for a project.

So, maybe if people think it's a good idea they could post conditions the script would look for that might save hours of wasted simming.

Hey,

Mnnn you are right, it is a bit complicated to know we didn't check the data to export after millions of simulated frames. You can check it before simulated in this way. Openning the Simulation Flow, creating a Script in the SimulationPre like this

nodes = scene.getObjects() #you can choose the nodes you want
for n in nodes:
if n.isExportDataActive() == False:
n.setExportDataActive(True)
