Exporting from Max 2013 to RF 2013`

Post by Bardipper » Mon Aug 05, 2013 9:30 pm

When I had RF 4, I was able to exprt in the SD format. I exported a file in the OBJ format but it didn't send the animation. What's the best way to export to RF? Thanks

I now can export an SD file from Max to RF. However the animation doesn't get sent. I saw a tutorial using Alembic. But cCan't this be done with the max plugin?

OBJ cannot send animation, unless you export an OBJ for every single frame. I bet you have something that is animated with surface deformation and forgot to check that before SD export. However, for MAX and ABC, you should be using Exocortex Crate. The guys at Exorcortex are doing a fabulous job creating a really stable plugin. I rarely ever had problems getting things from Max into RF via Crate.

Thanks, Florian. and you others for the help. I do have surface deformation and checked Yes under Deformation in the SD File Export Settings dialog. Still no animation. Is there another place that I should check?
Thanks.

Hi,

The problem is you are not checking the yes for the deformation when exporting. Try it and let me know if it works.
