HY_2 Buoyancy

Post by CG_Nema » Thu Aug 08, 2013 1:11 am

I can't get rigid bodies to float up to the surface of water when inside a HY2 fluid (no matter what mass I set). I can get this effect with SPH particles but I would love to see this fixed/added to HY2 fluids as well. Is this a known limitation?

It's a more or less known limitation. Buoyancy with grid fluids is very difficult to implement and that's why there's only an "approximation" at the moment. This means, that objects can be moved by the fluid and vice versa, but they do not behave in a physically correct way in terms of density and buoyancy. This was already an issue with RF2012's Hybrido solver.
