Faceted Hybrido Mesh

I'm working on an ocean surface and my hybrido mesh looks faceted when I render it in Maya. I've tried Normals>Soften Edges, but that doesn't solve the problem. My mesh is high resolution (over 1 million polys) and can't be smoothed without crashing my computer (24GB RAM - GTX 580 Geforce 3GB). I'm not using the realflow displacement map in the attached render. However, even with the displacement map applied, the faceting still occurs. Please see the attached image to see the problem.

Hi Michael,

could you attach a bin mesh file to try here?. Usually, smoothing the normals for the mesh should be working.
