Parenting not working for ABCs

Post by FlorianK » Wed Aug 21, 2013 10:58 am

Parenting an ABC to animated geo doesn't work. After adding a keyframe to an ABC, you cannot move it in RF anymore. It would have been a pleasure to see anything ABC- related working without a lot of frustration inside RF.

Is there any known way how one could replace the ABC in RF with Exocortex Crate?

hi,

keep in mind that importing ABC into RealFlow youare importing one or several objects at the same time as just one. If you are parenting an object to that ABC the object should follow the ABC center of transform. If not, it could be a bug. We'll take a look

I'm parenting the ABC to an animated object and the ABC doesn't move at all, which looks like a bug for me. Anyhow, animating ABCs inside Realflow is a horror and doesn't work at all, there seem to be the strangest of issues. I sent you a scene that clearly demonstrates some.

EDIT: Now, that I am using SD instead of Alembic, also the collision behavior of my object with the Domain is completely different (and more like the way I was expecting).

Hi Florian, it is a bug indeed. We will fix it soon.
