Hybrido Fluids Don't Act Like Standard Fluids
Hybrido Fluids Don't Act Like Standard Fluids
I have a trough that feeds water into a container. When I use standard emitters, the fluid flows just fine. But when I use a Hybrido emitter, the fluids penetrate through the trough. I've tried different cell sizes on both the fluids and geometry, but they still penetrate. Some help please. Thanks.
Re: Hybrido Fluids Don't Act Like Standard Fluids
The reason why they behave differently is because the fluid motion is calculated using different algorithms. FLIP or SPH.
In order to solve you problem, you should be posting an image of your scene settings, domain cell size as well as the Volume settings for your interconnected object.

Attached is the setup.
Domain cell size = 0.3
In Scale Option dialog, Cell size scale = 1.0
Trough: Solid Inside
Glass: Solid Inside
The above produced the results shown in attached.
Then I assigned Shell to the Trough and Glass, and there was no more penetration. Why is this?
Thanks

Hey,
It can be due to the cell size value you have for the scene. Maybe the geometry is voxelizing with a huge cell size and the cells are not adjusted properly with the geometry. Could you send us the scene to check?

Yes, I can send it. With the gfc and bin files, it's 6GBs. How do I send it? I'll also have to send the sd files, won't I?
Re: Hybrido Fluids Don't Act Like Standard Fluids
Don't bother sending the cache files.
send the scene and sd file. NL will run the sim there and advise you of any solutions.

In my experience, Shell type volumes cause leaking more than Solid types. Try adding a thickness to your geometry by extruding it a little, then set it to solid inside. This usually works for me. Sometimes changing the solver strictness to 1 helps with leaking as well.

Hi,
Yeah, that problem is basically by the cell size parameter. Taking a look at the scene will be helpful.
