Zero Frame Initial State Bug

Hi,
Remember the problem when you are using an initial state at frame 0 and start the simulation, it ignores the initial state and the next frame the particle count goes back to zero?
I thought this problem had been fixed in one of the 2013 updates. At least it seemed to be, but it happened again to me last night. I started the simulation just before I went to bed, but when I woke up, instead of having almost a 1 million particles, I only had a few thousand.
When I reset the simulation, then put the timeline onto frame 1, the problem goes away.
I just wasted an entire night of simulation time on a bug I thought was fixed. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
