Particle Stretching

Hi. I thought there was a way, perhaps there is, but i am totally not figuring it out, to enable or create a 'speed-stretching' on particles. Trying to do a pouring simulation where some fluid crashes and splashes against the ground but i am having two problems.

1. The particles maintain their full shape as they're pouring down. How can I get them to 'stretch' more like realistic droplets?

2. When the particles hit the ground, some of them just still stay as individual particles. They don't actually "splash' or converge into much of a splatter. What can i do to change this behavior?

I had problems rendering in PRMan with motion blur. I did add motion blur in nuke after the fact but it still wasn't good enough.

Hi Mark,

Tricky to see what the real issue you are having is from that image.
What is the particle count on that sim? Have you tried increasing the resolution to get more detail? There might be just that. Add some surface tension if you are not using much to get the 'stretchin' on the particles instead of the particles separating that easily when hitting.

Cheers,
