Cell Size Issue?

Post by Jerambis » Tue Jul 14, 2015 6:34 pm

Hello Everyone,

I am fairly new to Realflow, so I think cell size may be the issue, but when I am doing these tutorials:

1- http://blog.digitaltutors.com/realflow- ... d-systems/
2 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVNJKvk9U9M

I notice that the fluid does not always react to my geometry. For example, in tutorial "1" the fluid does not interact with the horses leg/foot, but it does interact with the horses body and parts of its head. While in tutorial "2" the fluid interacts with the blocks while they are together, but not the pieces after they break apart. Is this a cell size issue (meaning the cell size has to be reduced), or is this something else? Do I have to reduce the cell size of the domain as well as the geometry or one or the other? If so, is there any rule of thumb when using geometry and setting proper cell size? The sims take so long, and to come back and see the fluid not reacting to parts of geometry is so frustrating, haha.

Hey,

Try to show the isosurface for your geometry. Maybe you need to adjust the cell size for it so the fluid can see the legs.

I adjusted the geometry cell size using the isosurface as a visual reference and that seemed to work, thank you!
