RealWave and video playback

I hope I didn't miss anything, but it seems that there's a problem with RW and the video playback function: each time I want to record a RW sequence with "Video preview", RF performs a reset of the entire scene and then starts the recording. Additionally, when I try to assemble the frames automatically to a video, RF crashes. My version is RF5.0.2.0153 on OS X 10.6.5.

Hi Thomas,

I just tried to create a video preview of a simple RealWave and it works fine for me. Maybe RealFlow is performing an "update timeline cache" and it looks like it's being reset.

About the crash, do you mean opening them on a Movie Player window and clicking on the "Export Sequence" button?

Hi Alex,

Thanks a lot for your reply. I did a few more tests now and the reset problem only occurs with a scripted deformer. With all the other deformers everything's fine.

I also had a look at the crash log to find out what's wrong with the QT movies (Preferences > Preview > Generate Video). It seems I had some trouble with the video card memory buffer, because I did a lot of conversion shortly before. I thought it was the same issue that occurred during the beta period. There, RF always crashed with "Generate Video", but it seems that you've fixed it (thanks ; - ) ). The only thing is that the "Codec..." button is always grayed out, but this is not really important for me.
