Problem with imported geometry

Post by darthmikael » Tue Mar 01, 2016 3:15 am

I have a scene where I want to pour fluid from the mouth of a statue carved in the scene.
The scene even have a pool for more fluid
When I put the emmiter inside the mouth it beggins doing well the simulation but after a little distance the fluid starts to ignore the geometry.
I tried moving the emmiter outside the mouth, over the head and it does the same. After a little it trasspasses the geometry.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Hi darthmikael,

Have you decrease cell size already? The Hybrido domain's default is 0.3 and for objects it's 0.1 You could, for example, set them both to 0.05. The simulation will take longer, but it'll also turn out better and more accurate. You can read more about cell size under http://support.nextlimit.com/display/rf ... +Cell+Size

I also recommend checking and adjusting the model's isosurface:
http://support.nextlimit.com/display/rf ... nteraction

If all this doesn't help then it's possible to increase the global geometry scene scale and make the object bigger. This happens internally inside RF only. When you export your fluid and/or the meshes, everything will be correctly scaled again. You can find this parameter (Geometry scale) when you click on this icon the third icon right to the "Reset" button (there are 2 green mesh icons, then the one for scaling)-

I'm pretty sure that this will solve your collision problems.

Best,
Thomas
