Exit Demo Mode?

Post by gregg@gianninicreative.com » Wed Apr 06, 2016 11:46 pm

Hi All,

I have 25 days left in my demo but today installed a floating license running on our license server. I would now like to switch out of the demo mode and use the license. How do I go about doing that?

Running 2015 on OS X.

Thanks in advance...

Hi and thanks for purchasing RealFlow. Welcome on board :D

I assume you're on windows. Under your local user's folder you'll find a "realflow" directory with a .lic file inside. That's the demo license and it can be removed.

Now create a new text file and enter HOST ip_of_thecomputer_with_license_server port_of_license_server, e.g.:
HOST 192.168.1.100 5053. 5053 is RLM's default port, but maybe you're running it on another port. Please make sure that this port isn't blocked by your firewall.

Save the file as "host.lic" and put into the mentioned "realflow" folder. Then restart RF. The program should now look for the license on the server.

Thanks replying. Where would this file be found on OS X?

It's under /Users/your_username/realflow ;)

Just spent a good amount of time with exactly this same problem. On OS X, the actual directory is: /Users/<username>/Documents/realflow
If you just put the host.lic file in /Users/<username>/realflow it won't work.
The demo.lic file that has to be deleted is in /Users/<username>/Documents/realflow/2015

Hope that saves someone some time :-)
