Problem scaling fall off object

So im trying to follow the following https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLOiNNVOb7c&t=115s youtube tutorial on how to create a Maelstrom by Luiz miguel Mora. For some reason Im unable to scale the falloff object,I cant do it in the viewport even if I try to enter the values its like its locked. what am i doing wrong? help please
