Is it possible to render grid mist in 3DS Max with out using RFRK2? IF so how would I go about doing this?
Thank you in advance for any help on this.

Hi,
it is not possible. The only way it would be if you can create a geometry shader so it can read the mtc files. Now, the mtc files is not open yet but it will opened in the next patch for realflow.

Could it not be possible to depict a density field like the mist with particles? I mean if you give a particle a position and a density value, one could use that data in the 3D applicaion to cover that particle with a voxel and make voxel size or opacity or whatever dependent on the density value of the particle...That would at least be an option to get anything but nothing....just a thought
