RF 2012 Bugs
RF 2012 Bugs
I ran into the problem when opening RF5 Scenes in RF6, I get error messages that faces are ignored, set higher Scale.
The same scene crashes instantly when I apply an Object Emitter to the Object after scaling up so the Errors don't show up anymore..
please fix this, right now I cannot work with RF6
cheers
Aniki

Re: RF 2012 Bugs
Just checked again, doesn't seem to be related to the SD File, try the following:
Create a default Sphere in RF2012, Add an Object Emitter -> Set the Sphere as the Emitting Object.
Increase the Emitter Resolution so the Sphere would actually emit.
Hit Simulate-> Crash !

Hi Aniki,
We know about this bug. We'll fix it. About the faces is weird. You are the second case you have this problem
. Do you have the geometry to check here?
Thanks

Re: RF 2012 Bugs
Hey Luis,
I already sent you the scene via techdesk.
its quite easy to reproduce. Just create a plane and subdivide it by 10x10 or more in the 3d application.
then import it into realflow and scale it down so its like 2cm in with and length. voila, you get the error..
cheers

Re: RF 2012 Bugs

no, its not fixed, unfortunately as you can see in the screenshots, the "degenerated faces" error still shows up in the log and the plane gets ignored when colliding with particles..
checked with the same scene posted above..
cheers

Re: RF 2012 Bugs
Hey,
The bug fixed is the object emitter issue. About the "degenerated faces" is not a bug, realflow always has worked in this way. Keep in mind that working with small scales where there is a simulation with dynamics, the relative distance with the gravity makes that the steps to integrate are very small and it may be causing bad behaviors. But it is not a rule only for realflow, I think. Most of 3d or simulation softwares, included Realflow, is not possible to work in a good way with very small scales. I advice you to work with a real scale inside realflow.
