deamons stop working after extending frame range

first off -
RF 2012, window7 pro 64bit, intel i7 6core, 48GB ram.
My original solve was for 300 frames. I needed to extend another 600 frames, so changed end frame to 600 and re sim'ing from 295 to 600 (overlap seems to help...starting at 301 caused a break in the emitter stream). The problem now is both the dSpline deamon and the surface Tension deamon are no longer influencing the emitter particles.
Is there something else I should be doing when extending the frame range of a scene?
Thank you.
