Grid Meshing Versus Domain Particles

Post by IndyEdit » Mon May 06, 2013 5:14 pm

Hey there, I'm experimenting with my Grid Mesh I've done on a hybrido sim. Trying to see if we can use Hybrido in our pipeline..

setup: several geometries(Grid Emitters) dropping one after another. No Splash emitters used. Calculate Surface was on Always, Source: From Field. Resolution 20,000,000

I understand Mesh's dont hug every last particle, but it's not even close. I'm wondering if (and probably am) missing something here. This isn't a 911 finish a job situation, just trying to Sim like a gentleman so I'm happy to restart a sim with different things turned on if it means getting a closer mesh.

Did you try decreasing the detail threshold? You might also consider using "from particles" instead "from field" in the domains surface properties.

You should consider upgrading to RF2013, which has just been released. The Hybrido solver has been completely revamped and it is producing much better results in less time. From your image I guess this was done using RF2012.

The Grid Meshing algorithms have also improved a lot, so it might be worth taking a look.
