RFRK Maya 2014.sp5 and Arnold

Post by ben.fox@framestore.com » Wed May 27, 2015 4:12 pm

Hey everyone,
We have a Realflow job in and trying to get all the latest bells and whistles up and running.
The RFRK for Maya and Arnold stuff has yet to work for me...not sure where things are breaking.
The shelf buttons all bring up a file browser to select the files for importing, but the nodes never get created, just unknown nodes show up.
The plugins load with no errors, just don't create anything. Here are the errors:

// Warning: file: /net/global/opt/nextlimit/rfrk2014/maya2015-x64/scripts/others/rfrk4Common.mel line 1223: Unrecognized node type 'rk_mesh4'; preserving node information during this session. //
// Error: file: /net/global/opt/nextlimit/rfrk2014/maya2015-x64/scripts/others/rfrk4Common.mel line 1235: setAttr: No object matches name: unknown18.files[0].pathAndPrefix //

I tested the createNode commands that are called: /net/global/opt/nextlimit/rfrk2014/maya2015-x64/scripts/others/rfrk4Common.mel
createNode "rk_mesh4" etc. and none of the options create a valid node.
We are currently running Maya 2014.sp5 on Linux.
Hopefully its an easy fix.
Let me know if you need any other info.
Thanks so much
~Ben

Hello Ben:

It seems that you have to install rfrk2014 for Maya 2014. The scripts are pointing to rfrk2014 for Maya2015.

Please, let me know.

Sorry about the confusion.

Hi Ben

This means that the mental ray shaders are not loaded. rfrk4.mi and rfrk4.so are in the correct place. They are needed to load the templates properly.
