I and a lot of others have had a problem where Max 2012 gives an error on start up, then crashes.

After uninstalling the RF5 plug in, the error no longer occurs and Max starts fine. Have any of you experienced this problem?

It is fixed in the new plugin version for 3dsmax you can download from the web.

Hi Luis,

Thank you, I have downloaded the newest plug-in and installed it, but there are no buttons in the Realflow toolbar. So I uninstalled the plug-in, and opened Max again, and strangely the Realflow menu and toolbar is still there. I even checked in the 3ds Max / plugins folder to make sure the RF driver was not there. It's not. How can I completely uninstall the plug-in? It may be worth mentioning that Max is installed in E:/Program Files instead of the normal C: / Program Files. Thanks for your help!

Well, I got the buttons back manually by dragging them back to the toolbar from the customize menu. :D

Hi,

It seems be a problem uninstalling the plugin. Make sure that all folders have been removed before installing the new plugin. By default, the plugin check if there is an old version and removes it. Try to uninstall the plugin first and then install the new. Let me know if it worked. If so, we have a bug in the plugin when is installed in other folder than C:.

Thanks

Hi Luis,
Can you tell me what is installed with this plugin besides the driver in the Max plugin folder, so I can make sure to delete everything before reinstalling?

To recap, my Max 2012 is installed on the E drive. When I try to uninstall the Realflow plugin, here is the dialog box that comes up:

Is this correct that it is pointing by default to C: Windows?

Yes, the C:\Windows is the rigth path. I mean you may remove the realflow.dlu from the plugins folder for 3dsmax. When you install the plugin, there is not a new E:\Windows folder, isn't there?

The toolbars need to be removed from customize -> customize user interface and select the toolbar in the dropdown.
For information, the key in the register HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\NextLimit\RealFlow4\MaxIntegration is where the path are stored .
