SD Files Getting lost after reopening scene

Post by apguest » Tue Jul 20, 2010 6:10 pm

We are getting a problem with our Max 9 x64 scenes, after saving a Scene with a imported SD file, close the scene and try and reopen it all the links to the imported SD files have been lost...

Any ideas?

Andy.

Can you share a scene (and sd file) where that happens? bogdan.coroi@gmail.com

We cant send the scene as its under NDA, but we setup a simple test and post it.

Ok, Just tried this in max 2011
Plugin = v2.1.6

Same issue, Even saved the SD to Local Desktop saved scene and reopened, no SD object loading...
In the "Link to SD File" there is the correct path, but the object is not loaded in Max.
Clicking on the "Change SD File" and reselecting the SD file then opens it ok.....

Any Ideas?

This is a bug indeed and will be fixed for the next update. The bug is triggered when the .sd file doesn't contain the frame 0 and it starts at frame 1 (as in your case). As a workaround try to re-save your .sd file starting with frame 0, not 1.

If you can't re-save your .sd for some reason (don't have the original scene or so) I can patch the .sd file for you and send it over.
