SD (import / export)

Post by astan » Mon Jun 10, 2013 10:20 am

Hej,

in my scene are 4 different meshes. each as a separate object.
i start the RF SD exporter inside c4d(14). now i would like to export only 2 of my 4 objects. but i cant select just 2 or one.
(add-button dont work) just the add-all button works.

any suggestions ?

Would be nice too if someone can explain the difference between "add with matrix / vertex" .
thanks, best

Hi astan,

The problems with "Add" button are new to me. Are you on Windows or OS X? Here, on OS X everything works fine. Do you perhaps have an older plugin version installed simultaneously or could you please re-install the plugins? If this won't cut it please let us know.

With regards matrix/vertex mode, the difference is as follows:
"Matrix" is the standard mode for all export tasks including object animation. When your object has PLA features, e.g. a cloth or soft body animation from C4D then you have to activate the "Vertex" mode, because in this case, the plugin will record the individual vertex positions and write them to the SD. This way it's possible to export deformations on the object's vertex level.

Thanks for the video. This was indeed very helpful and I'll forward it to the plugin developer.

i have the same problem. "add all" adds the objects to the list, but they don't load correctly.

the only thing that seems to help is to rename the objects until it works

Hi,

So, the objects are added to the list, they can be exported, but inside RF they're not loaded/shown properly? Or do you have problems when you reexport them from RF to C4D? Could you please clarify? Are you on Windows or OS X?

Thanks,
Thomas
