Realflow RenderKit for Lightwave

Post by Danakinobi2 » Fri Aug 22, 2014 8:20 pm

Hello,

I currently use Lightwave 11.6.3 on my win7 64 bit system... I'm going to purchase the "realflow 2014" learning edition to learn and get the feel of the software.

I see that the "Realflow RenderKit" is now free... Is this something that comes with "realflow 2014" or is this a separate download?

My understanding is that it allows for realtime editing of realflow particles in Lightwave.

Has anyone had experience with this?

Normally in Real Flow, you simulate out fluid particles, then you use those particles to generate the fluid as a series of object files, one for each frame.

The render kit in allows you to render out the geometry of your fluid without generating series of mesh objects. This can save a lot of hard drive space.

The render kit is free but is a separate download from the main Real Flow program. Once you've bought the software, you just go to the download center and pick the render kit for Lightwave and you're good to go. Install the plugin in Lightwave and start rendering.

Hope this helps,
