Grid Fluid kill Option

Is there anything that you would like to see in future versions of RealFlow?

Grid Fluid kill Option

Post by FlorianK » Wed Mar 30, 2011 3:39 pm

It was great to have an option such as "Kill all fluid that is lower in Y than SD object X".

To be more precise:

When simulating a grid fluid, in 99% of the cases you have something like a sea bed the fluid's flowing over. In these cases you don't want the fluid only to exist abobve this surface, anything that's under this surface shouldn't exist.

Hi Florian,

have you tried the proxy format when simulating?. In the export central, you have the choice to put the GridFluidDomain format, by default in Best, to High. High only will show the particles above the surface. Keep in mind you'll need to put the High display in the "eye" button near the control panel to view it in the viewport.

I hope it helps.

Actually, I thought of something different.

I just want a mechanism that prevents fluid from being created underneath a selected ground plane in a way thjat this ground plane acts as the fluid's border. This is to prevent anything below this plane from being simulated.
