Saving- Always save at Frame 0

Is there anything that you would like to see in future versions of RealFlow?

Saving- Always save at Frame 0

Post by FlorianK » Sun Jul 01, 2012 4:46 pm

When saving an arbitrary frame in Realflow, Realflow saves the actual state of the particles at that frame in the scene into the file. This might be useful for some, but I find it problematic in many scenarios.

If saving a Hybrido scebne, with Hybrido having 25Million particles, plus 10 Million other SPH aprticles on top, the files get huge, saving takes ages and sometimes the files are corrupted.

Therefore it was nice if there was an option like "Exclude Particles from Savefile" in the preferences.

Hi Florian,

In the to-do-list for RF2013.
Hopefully it will be there.

Thanks for reminding us.

plus one that!

my hard disk is filling up just with heavy realflow scenes

it would be super fantastic, to eliminate the saving of particles inside scene files completely

:D
