Caching simulation bug

Post by Lazore » Sun Jan 08, 2017 11:01 am

This has happened to me a lot of times

I have made a new folder where i want it to cache (It never remembers it so i have to chose it every time)
Sometimes when i cache a new project over there, it takes the previous cache and starts that one as a simulation in my new scene.

This often just results in exploding particles everywhere.

When i cache the new simulation, i cache it before i press Use Cache.

Something seems to be connected to the set initial state, because to make it stop happen, i had to set up the initial state again.

The main problem here is that you are using the same cache folder for all your scenes. Then, when you start a new scene it will pick up the cache from the last simulated scene. To fix this just change the cache folder for every new scene, that information is stored per scene so you have to do this just once.

For version 2 we are thinking in a automatic way of dealing with this so by default every scene will have its own cache folder that will be created, for instance, using the scene name.

Thank you very much for drag out attention on this issue.
