Splash pass and displacement by graph Issue

Post by MicheleA » Fri Jul 12, 2013 11:02 am

Hello!

I'm working in a shot where I have applied the displacement directly to the mesh via graph. I see that there is a way with the graph to snap later the foam, but I have problems with the splash, of course I cannot snap the splash for obvious reasons but I don't know if there is a way to offset the splash to the mesh. Now I have the splash pass that doesn't match anymore with the mesh and create a huge gap.

Any suggestion?

I would like to post the image with the problem but apparently I can't post attachmens.... :?:

many thanks in advance
Cheers

Hi,

You have the possibility, once simulated the splash particles, to load them with a BinaryLoader. Once you has imported the particles with a binary loader, you have the Xform parameter in the Node Params tab. Setting this parameter to Yes, you will be able to move the particles where you want by selecting the Binary Loader node and moving it.

I hope it helps.

HI LuisM,

Thanks but the problem I think is more in displace the particles, just move them down doesn't solve the problem as the surface was deformed by the displacement, I mean is not flat anymore, so I have the splash that collide with the core which is flat, then I displace the mesh and now of course I have waves. I wish I could post an image, btw why I can't post attachements? :)

many thanks
I hope that was clear!
Cheers
