rigid body export to SD file with in tact uvs

Post by redpawfx » Fri Oct 28, 2011 11:24 pm

It appears that when I use the fracture tool in RF and then export the geo via SD , all the uv's on the geo
completely dissappear.

is there a way to at least preserve the outside surface uv's during the shatter
or is this a deeper limitation to the SD file format that it does not support uv's ?

Hi John,

Unfortunately this is a restriction/bug on the current fracture Tool.
We hope it can be corrected asap and UVs will hopefully be there in the next patch.
Apologies once again for this.

I'll have to confirm, but another of our fx guys seems to think its more global of a problem including anything that is exported via SD file format into and them back out of realflow as well.. like say you have a pre broken up dynamics object, run a rigid sim on it and then bring the SD of that back into maya, it will lose its UV's as well.

Like I said, I'll have to test this a little more to see if there's a switch we're not seeing on our end to preserve input uv's or whatever.

thanks
