Small break

Post by hervé » Tue Oct 18, 2011 2:21 pm

Hello, I am using the HotNCold Plugin..

Last Realflow 2012.. win XP64

after I stop a sim, go back one frame, and continue the sim, I get a visible seam, like a small break in my fluid..
I am using high viscosity like 200..

Hi Hervé,

Could you post an image that ilustrates the issue if possible?
Or send it to us if you cannot make it public.

Cheers,

Hello Gus...

oki, no problem, but I will send you the scene (pretty simple), so you can see it directly, and maybe it will be easier for you to spot exactly what's going on...

ok, here you go..

at frame 85, I stopped the sim. at 50% calculation, then I went back to frame 84, and continue the sim., and you can see a small break, it also changes the curve slightly...

Hi Hervé,

If you stop the simulation before all the substeps within the frame were finished, there is a chance that resuming will leave this artifacts. But this looks also likely to be related to the hot&cold resuming its 'magic'.
We may need to check more thoroughly anyway. The workaround meanwhile is as you mentioned earlier.

We still have this problem.. it becomes very big if you have to redo a 2 weeks sim.. just because of that !..
