Change Resolution

Post by BrianLooney » Sat Jul 10, 2010 2:05 am

Are there some technical reasons why the user is not allowed to simulate a grid fluid at low res, then use an "interpolate" function to increase resolution? I'm filling a large ocean volume, then I will simulate waves and boat motion, but while filling the container, much time is lost. It would be good to be able to fill my container at low res, then raise the res and settle the particles. Please correct me if I have overlooked any functions that make this possible already.

Hi Brian,

It is a good feature but unlike it is not possible. Now, when you change the resolution for the grid fluid domain, Realflow shows a warning indicating you can load old particles if they have been simulated with different resolution, but it is a good issue to take in account.
