Hybrido Mesh Failing!

Post by oralia80 » Wed Jun 05, 2013 12:37 am

I'm pulling out my hair on this hybrido mesh problem! I have a successful domain, emitter and splash & foam setup. Everything sim'd correctly. I switched everything to cache and added a Hybrido mesh... but it crashes realflow after a few frames. I'm only hitting 12gb of RAM max. I have 64gb installed.
FYI, default setup with a few changes... see attached images.

Just so you know, you don't need your domain etc set to cache to build the meshes.

It seems to be working fine my end. Are you running the demo, LE or standard?

Are you selecting the mesh, then pressing the build meshes button?

Does the mesh build ok by simply right clicking the mesh node > build?

Thanks for the tip on the caching. I tried it without having it set to cache also, same result.

I'm using the learning edition. I've tried all methods. Using the "Build Meshes" button on the main title bar. Right clicking/mesh/"build" even the "build mesh" button next to the time slider.

Are you using the mesh default settings or have you changed them, if so you may have used values Rf doesn't like. Maybe make a new mesh but disconnect the other one and set it to inactive. Give that a try.

I don't think I can load LE scenes in standard, but it's maybe worth a try. Email me the scene if you want seantoomey.cymru@gmail.com and I'll have a look.

Of course, the best people to send the scene to would be NL.

Yes, me might need the scene to find out the problem. Because of the parameters that you are using the most likely to cause problems is to optimize the mesh, can you just set this parameter to default and let us know? This will help a lot here to resolve the issue.

Thank you for reporting that.
