Simulating splash after a sim has been done.

Post by edgylines@gmail.com » Wed Jul 10, 2013 11:20 am

Hi everyone,

Can you do a splash and foam simulation when the core fluid already has been simulated and cached? Can RF use the cache to calculate the mist, spray and foam? Or do you need to redo the whole sim?

Thanks!

That's one of the main features of Hybrido's secondaries (splash etc). You can use the fluid in cache mode.

Great!

I'm relieved! I was worrying that I needed to do the whole sim again.

Thanks a lot for the information.

To do one thing after another is the way it is meant to be done in order to save resurces.

I'm just starting out, so the workflow is not entirely clear yet... :)

But I'm loving it! :D

And also to be able to compute more particles. Rather than having the computer handle grid, and foam and mesh and splash at the same time, we can handle a bigger foam-sim if we do it afterwards.

Digital Tutors just posted 26 RealFlow 2013 videos. They provide a pretty good overview, too.
