I can't create initial states from emitters with "Volume" > 0 or filled object states. Each time I try to do so I get this message: "WARNING: Can't create initial state. Cache needed to create the initial state is missing." Initial states from emitters with a particle stream (Speed > 0) work well.
Can anyone confirm this?

Re: Can't create initial states
Hi Thomas,
I followed these steps:
1. Created a new scene.
2. Added a Circle emitter.
3. Set its Volume parameter to 5.0.
4. Pressed Reset.
5. Clicked on Make Initial State.
6. Set Use Initial State to Yes and enabled Reset to Initial State.
It worked fine for me on 5.0.2.0153 under OS X 10.5.8
Am I missing anything to recreate your issue?

Re: Can't create initial states
Hmmm... I can't tell what's going on here. I had this warning yesterday and this morning and now it's suddenly gone.
Alex, did you use a kind of Voodoo to make it work remotely? Anyway, thanks for taking the time to have a look at it.

You are welcome Thomas.
We have considered several times to ship a developer with every RealFlow package. It never dares to crash in front of us.

Re: Can't create initial states
Seems that this issue is still present, but not always and I cannot find a pattern at the moment. I've sent a file with this problem directly to you. Thanks again.

Re: Can't create initial states
Hi again,
Yes, if I open your scene and click on "Make Initial State" I get the message:
- Can't create initial state. Cache needed to create the initial state is missing.
However, if I Reset the scene I'm allowed to do it.
To create an Initial State you need to remain in the same frame you simulated/reset the last time. If you scrub the timeline, you must create the Initial State from a cached frame. This happens because some information is lost on frame change, no matter how "right" particles appear to be on the viewport.
I hope the explanation helps.
