HI to everyone here are my neewbi question :
1/Each time I lauch Realflow I have got these errors:
>[15/January/2014 22:11:11] - User scripts organizer file C:/Users/Franck/commandsOrganizer.dat not found.
>[15/January/2014 22:11:11] - Layout successfully loaded.
>[15/January/2014 22:11:13] - Startup script D:/Program Files/Next Limit/RealFlow 2013\startup.rfs not found.
I didn't change anything in the settings, so why ?
2/ I have a strage behaviour with Open CL-GPU
What ever the option is checked or not, I have always this message when I ask for a simulation :
>[15/January/2014 22:15:04] - Using 8 thread(s) for this simulation.
>[15/January/2014 22:15:04] - Using opencl-gpu device GeForce GTX 580 for this simulation
>[15/January/2014 22:15:04] - Using opencl-gpu device GeForce GTX 670 for this simulation
So not sure it is working or not.
And last thing I did notice, at the beginning of the simulation, calculcation is very fast, after 20 frames it begins to sowdonw, and become very slow after, that seems logical with thecomplexity of the simulation it slowdown, but what is strange, is that if I save the simulation, close realflow, open it again, and load the project, again the first 20 frames calculate fast, and then gain slowdown, and it works each time.
Is it logical ?
Thank you for your help
Franck

Re: Open CL-GPU and setup question
Any one on this one? I will try a re-installation of realflow this week, and see if it solves the problem.
Thanks

Re: Open CL-GPU and setup question
Why should it be faster the second time ? It is doing the same calculations as in the first round. You have to set the emitters and other nodes to "Cache" mode for using the saved data.but what is strange, is that if I save the simulation, close realflow, open it again, and load the project, again the first 20 frames calculate fast, and then gain slowdown, and it works each time.
Is it logical ?

You misunderstood me, here an exemple to help you understand better.christianz wrote:Why should it be faster the second time ? It is doing the same calculations as in the first round. I simulate frame 0 to 30, until frame 20 everything is ok, then at 20 it begin to slowdown and each frame take a longer time. I stop the simulation, save the project, quit realflow. Start realflow again, open the saved project. click on simulate to simulate from frame 30 to frame 60, the first 20th frame are ok, then again slowdown, from frame 50 until I stop the simulation.
The scene is real basic scene to test and learn realflow, if you want to have a look, here it is : https://hubic.com/home/pub/?ruid=aHR0cH ... kyOTMzOTQz#
I hope that my explanation are clearer now
Thank you.

Re: Open CL-GPU and setup question
Ok, I got it now. I cannot open the file because I don't have the learning edition. Anyway, I still think that complexity is building up during the simulation, even if you start in the middle. Somebody with knowledge about the inner workings of RF should answer that question...
